ACCEPTABLE ID
As of April 4th, 2023, Ohio has a stricter voter ID law. When voting in person, voters must confirm their identity. When voting by mail, voters must provide a copy of acceptable ID.

Valid forms of ID (unexpired):

Ohio driver’s license

Ohio state ID

Interim identification form issued by BMV
-
Military ID (U.S. Military, U.S. Veterans Affairs, or Ohio National Guard)

U.S. passport

All photo IDs must include:

Voter's name
-
Photograph of voter

Expiration date that has not passed

IN PERSON EARLY

Early voting begins day after voter registration closes. Last day to vote early is Monday 2:00 PM before election day.

ABSENTEE BALLOT
1) Request an absentee ballot

Fill out an application.

Mail or drop off application at your county board of elections.

An absentee ballot will be mailed to you. Track your absentee ballot here.
Deadline: Must request absentee ballot 7 days before the election. Can request as early as 90 days before the election.
Note: You must submit an application for each election you wish to vote with an absentee ballot.

2) Return your absentee ballot

Mail: Must be postmarked no later than the day before Election Day. Must be received by your county board of elections no later than 4 days after the election. It will take an estimated 2-5 days for absentee ballot to be delivered by mail.

In-person: Must be received by your county board of elections no later than 7:30 PM on Election Day.
